St-Clément is a village with superb panoramic views. The site is of geological interest, with more than 11 lava flows from the Mézenc massif piled up over several million years to form the plateau perched by the hollowing out of the valleys.
Breathtaking landscapes...
Saint Clément is renowned for the originality of its landscapes, its recognised geological site... and its windy climate!
Well-known and travelled by many geologists, the basalt flows here are superimposed on the granite bedrock to form a gigantic "educational staircase", facing the phonolite protrusions that illustrate the different stages in the volcanic formation of the Mézenc massif.
Follow the geological trail (2.5 km) through the heart of the basaltic flows, offering an unprecedented panorama.
In the village, discover L'École du vent, an eco-tourism site offering an original experience to discover the secrets of the Wind People. Astonishing and ... breathtaking!
