Step inside and discover a chestnut-colored world with an immersive and playful experience!
In the heart of the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Natural Park, in the village of Saint-Pierreville, the Chestnut Tree House offers an interactive visit that plunges you into the heart of a chestnut tree! Over two floors and through ten scenographic sequences, an old chestnut tree tells you its story. You start at the base of the tree and then climb up to its top, through the branches and green foliage.
The voice of the chestnut tree accompanies you throughout the journey, telling you about the special relationship between the people of the Ardèche slopes and their “bread tree”: the evolution of techniques and landscapes, production and uses, imagination, environment, and future. The visit awakens all your senses: smell the wood, touch the chestnuts, listen to the sounds of the forest…
Husks speak to you, touch screens offer quiz games to learn about chestnuts… The discovery will delight the whole family.
Combining modernity and tradition, the museum reveals the secrets of the Ardèche chestnut!
